Osteosarcoma of the Tibia – Rotational partial prosthesis – Knee Capsuloplasty and Ligamentoplasty Technique
The laboratory tests and their results were: blood count = normal; ESR= slightly elevated; DHL= normal; Ca++= normal; F++= normal and FA= elevated.
The analysis of this clinical picture, a 14-year-old patient (adolescent), with laboratory alterations (↑ESR and ↑FA) and imaging (aggressive metaphyseal lesion), points to the diagnostic hypothesis of osteosarcoma and very remotely chondromyxoid fibroma, as a differential diagnosis.
After systemic and local staging of the lesion, with imaging and laboratory tests, a biopsy of the lesion was performed, using a Jamshidi needle under radioscopy control (Figures 20 and 21).
